Trask River, Oregon

The Wilson and Trask are two equally beautiful and productive Tillamook Bay tributaries, each flowing over thirty miles from the Coast Range Mountains to their estuary at the Oregon Coast.  The Wilson and Trask are world famous for strong runs of large fall Chinook salmon.  Less attention is paid to the wild steelhead that swim these waters every February, March, and April.

Located 15 minutes from your accommodations in Tillamook, the Wilson and Trask Rivers offer three different floats each… an upper, middle, and lower beat.  These rivers average between 1,000 and 2,000 cubic feet per second, offering manageable sized water for anglers of all casting abilities.

We utilize self bailing rafts to float technical water and leave the beaten path behind.  A single day float on the Wilson or Trask will take you from the rugged waters of the Coast Range foothills to the placid flows near Tillamook Bay.  During your steelhead quest you will pass by dramatic bedrock walls, breathtaking waterfalls, and a variety of flora and fauna.

Anglers are encouraged to book several consecutive days of fishing, as conditions on the Oregon coast can fluctuate greatly in just one week.  Multi day trips may entail fishing the Nehalem River (25 minutes north) and Nestucca River (15 minutes south).
