Oahu and Kauai Islands, Hawaii
Photo Journal

Hawaii, such rich tradition of fishing in the region and so many anglers passing through enroute to another destination, all the while completely unaware of the unbelievable potential right here. Known for its blue water fishery, many don't even think that a "flats" type fishery is anywhere near existent on the islands.
Not all of the flats are easily accessible, many are either on military bases, require boat for access or you have to know where you are going to get to them.
Those who have fished here alot, honestly believe there will be a world record bonefish caught in Hawaiian waters. We are talking about bones nearing and exceeding 20 pounds. This is not to say these are easy, dumb fish to catch nor are we saying that you should expect to find the enormous schools of fish you find in the Bahamas. What you can expect are some beautiful, challenging and nearly never fished flats within close proximity to some of the most popular resort communties in the islands.
For years, we have been attempting to work with existing guides and businesses in the islands to set up some great fly angling trips but have been met with less than professional responses until now.
A very good friend of EWA, Terry Duffield has recently moved here and started a professional guide service for fly anglers only. This will be the perfect lay-over trip on the way to or from Christmas Island or Fiji or for a day while vacationing with the family.
