Imagine
fishing in crystal clear streams and rivers where you can see your
prey before you cast. These are stocked by one of the best self
renewing sources of trout in the world. The food supply is so plentiful
that the trout grow to sizes only seen in few other parts of the
world, and in numbers so plentiful that the fishery is totally self
sustaining. Flyfish with dry flies and nymphs for large Browns that
average over 5lb. in crystal clear mountain streams from October
to end of March.
Streams
are low, so wading is easy. The waters are very clear, so the trout
are very visible but very selective so careful stalking and delicate
presentation with small nymphs and dries required on small streams.
Some good wet fly and streamer fishing continuing at stream mouths
where they flow into the lake. This is a very popular time for visiting
anglers and most good lodges are already pre-booked by January for
the peak season.
