Lake Washington , Washington

Lake Washington is over 15 miles long and has boat ramp access at various points all along from top to bottom and is what separates Bellevue from Seattle. There is no question that this is an urban lake fishery. However, Lake Washington is 22,138 acres and with this size, there is definitely room to get away from other people a bit.
With so many miles for shoreline, there are several protected habitat parks and areas that from shore do not offer fishing opportunities but when accessed by boat, can provide more fly angling opportunities than a caddis hatch in spring!
The lake supports a wide array of fish species from Coho and Sockeye salmon, steelhead and sea run cutthroat to small and large mouth bass as well as perch.
While plenty of peolple fish the lake, there is more than enough room for all. Lake Washington is host to a couple sizable bass tournaments each year. Both the large and small mouth will range in size from 10 inches to well over 20 inches.
If you have never caught a small mouth on a fly rod, this is a game fish worthy of respect as they fight hard!!
