The following is our list of hosted travel destinations in which someone from our staff will be accompanying the group in the next 2 years. Trips are added frequently so check back often. If you would like to see us host a trip somewhere, let us know, we can arrange trips anywhere. Please feel free to inquire with us about any of these or other trips we may offer.
Our consultation on fly fishing destinations will cost you nothing more than if you were to book directly with the lodge or outfitter.
Isaac's Ranch Private Lakes -- Rainbow Trout
We will be hosting at least one trip a year if not more to the well known Isaac's Ranch in eastern Washington. The lakes were shut down for a year while the cleaned them out of unwanted species and re-introduced sizable Kamloops Rainbow Trout. Those in the know realize these trout in the right conditions grow extremely fast, up to 6 inches in a year. Well, Isaac's has the right enrionment for this type of growth. Fish are put in around 15-16 inches and then have sat undisturbed for over a year.
Chironomids, streamers, dry flies are all methods used here so there is something for everyone. Join us for a day of screaming reels with these turbo charged trout.

Eg and Uur Rivers, Mongolia -- Taimen and Lenok
This is the proverbial "Once in a Lifetime" fishing and cultural excursion trip. EWA has partnered with National Geographic to offer this amazing trip targeting Taimen with one of the leading scientists in the world working to educate and protect these fish and their habitat.
Zeb Hogan is lead scientist on the Megafishes Project, sponsored by National Geographic. The project is the first comprehensive scientific study of the largest freshwater fish on the planet.
He will be accompanying us on this trip affording anglers the rare opportunity to be a part of the only study currently underway to track Taimen for their growth from year to year, preferential habitat and feeding habits as well as spawning patterns.
Taimen can grow in excess of 60+ inches and are the largest salmonid on the planet. Anglers will have access to Zeb throughout the trip and be invited to delve as deep into the study as they like. Diving with Zeb to do fish counts as well as sitting there holding fish while scale samples and physical conditions are noted for the study. We will also visit the Taimen Conservation Fund office to talk with officers and locals working hard to protect these fish from poaching as well the mining pressures from industry mining efforts.
After a week of fishing the group will then head to the Gobi Desert to meet up with another
scientist who specializes in the Gobi and stay at the Three Camel Lodge, arguably the best eco-lodge in all of Mongolia. Here we will have the opportunity to engage with locals who have carved out a life for themself in this harsh environment, go to schools, see dig sites where the first dinosaur eggs were first discovered.
While this trip does have a side to it not focused on fly fishing, do not let this fool you. The fly fishing aspect of the trip is for serious fly anglers, with serious fly fishing professionals targeting a formidable specie. Equipment used for this trip is 9-12 wt. rods, spey rods will work well some of the time but will be a challenge from the boat each day so we recommend single handed rods primarily with speys as back up.
Please join us for this, one of the most amazing trips you will find offered to this part of the world, anywhere or anytime. By the way, all other outfitters are sold out for this season of Taimen fishing in Mongolia, these are the last spots open.

John Day River, OR -- Steelhead photos
We have now been doing this for over 5 years and after each year ends, we can barely wait until next season. The JD is one of the most amazing steelhead rivers in the lower 48 with numbers of fish entering the streams ranging from 5000 to over 20,000 depending on the year.
We have private water access spread between 3 different locations. One is a float to a private boat launch which makes a 18 mile stretch only about 7 miles with more water than you can fish in a day. The other two private access points are on a 50,000 plus acre ranch with access at both ends of it. This is a walk and wade trip with very easy wading and beautiful scenery. The roads into the ranch make for quite an adventure and at times are not passable due to moisture on the ground.
This is the ideal location for the seasoned spey veteran or a novice angler wishing to give spey casting a try. All guides are accomplished spey casters as well as instructors, insuring the best steelhead and spey education possible.
Come fish this soon to be legendary steelhead river with us. This always books solid early so book now.

John Day River, OR -- Bass photos
The John Day River, while gaining popularity in Steelhead circles has long been known for being a wonderful smallmouth bass fishery as well. We will be floating approximately 35 or so miles in 3 days. Camping is in tents with cots and Paco pads making the most comfortable bed on the river.
On average, anglers with experience can expect to see nearly a hundred hook ups per day and even more sometimes. The timing for this trip couldn't be more perfect as it is warming up in the canyon but not too hot yet and flows are still high enough to make floating easy. Water temps are warmning as well and are usually at a temp where the bass are seriously fired up. This is one of our favorite multi-day float/camp trips in the US.
Dates are as follows:
July 8th - 10th, 2008
Price: $1050 per angler
Includes: All meals and non alcoholic beverages on river, guides, tents, cots and pads, transportation to the river from Condon, OR. Alcohol, flies and gratuities are not included.
