Advanced Fly Tying Lessons
Seattle, Washington

After years of being asked what flies do we use for our trips and why, we are finally offering some tying classes to teach those tying techniques and explain why we like them.
The following are the classes we offer:
Traditional and Articulated Steelhead Patterns
Intruders
Flatwing Traditional patterns like General Practitioners
Saltwater Flatwing and Baitfish Immitations
Crab and shrimp patterns for the Sound and elsewhere
Flatwing Herring, Sand Lance and Salmon Fry
Specialized Trout Patterns for Specific Seasons
Stoneflies for Deschutes, Yakima and other destinations
Split wing mayflies
The goal here is to teach anglers and fly tyers some new techniques for flies that are not commonly tied in the average class.
Instructors will discuss at length why the flies being tied are preferred by our staff in their given situation with the hope that each tyer leaves with a new look at tying possibilities as well as fresh ideas of what to do on their own.
These classes require that each person come with at least an intermediate level of tying experience already in hand.
Group sizes are kept at 3 tyers maximum to give the maximum attention to each person in class.
