I am a true native born, Aussie raised on the outskirts of Sydney. I began fly-fishing with my father when I was a very young fellow in the Lower Hawkesbury and the mighty Colo rivers. Back then most of my fishing was with lures and other methods but soon began to appreciate the art and sport of fly-fishing. Over the past 15 years or so, I have managed to fly-fish all over the region of the Southern Hemisphere including Tasmania, New Zealand and the most remote and tropical outskirts of Australia, on a 12 month fly-fishing adventure of a lifetime with my wife Michelle. Many of these areas are only connected with the civilized world by off-road 4-wheel drive access only.

My love for fly-fishing and teaching others the sport led me to guiding and instructing for the past 7 years here in Australia. Realizing the vast expanses of fly-fishable water and the diverse species readily available on the fly, I opened my own specialist fly-fishing guide service here in Sydney in 1996. I spend about 150 days a year guiding around Sydney and another 30-40 teaching our Sydney Fly-Fishing Schools, which have seen enormous success, especially our Double Haul Development Course..

Our team at Sydney FlyFishing now covers Freshwater Natives -"Bass on Fly", Saltwater FlyFishing -"Pelagics on Fly", and Freshwater Trout - "Trout on Fly" plus our Fly-fishing schools, all within a 100km radius of Sydney.
