Professional Fly Fishing Guide

After college, I moved to Colorado where I started and ran a guide service and fly shop just outside of Winter Park. The Colorado River and its tributaries became my stomping grounds for 12 years before picking up and relocating to Northwest Washington. After building a guide service from the ground up, employing 8-10 guides and instructors every year and slowly moving into the management only position, I realized that it was instructing people that I truly loved.

My business, Angler on the Fly was spawned from my family’s Northwest migration. Washington offers such an exciting variety of fly fishing opportunities that change throughout the calendar year. I am at heart a winter steelhead junkie but that season must end and then we are happily forced into lake fishing until June and summer steelhead. The height of summer brings great beach fishing for sea-runs and schools of coho and then fall brings those fish back to the rivers. What an awesome cycle! No fishing ruts for me.

I love to take out any level of angler. I believe that being outside on the water simply relaxes anyone’s sole and brings out the best in them. I have a background in biology and an incredible love for animals, especially birds and fish. I feel blessed to have landed in the Bellingham area where the waters are beautiful and void of people!
