Born in Burnsville, MN, and growing up in Simsbury, CT, I began to journey down the long road of fishing at a young age. I still remember seeing the first trout of my life in a small mountain brook in Virginia while traveling with my family in our old Winnebago, I was about 6 at the time but I knew I wanted to capture that fish.

I was so intensely intrigued, so deeply interested.

Consequently, I began to make spears and devise any method possible to either catch or kill those trout that I saw, and so began my deep interest in fish and the places they dwell. As many who have the opportunity to fish bass and bluegill, I began to fish small farm ponds around my house in Connecticut riding my bike with fishing rod in hand to see what I could dig up for the day.

In high school, I was introduced to the fly rod and was suddenly swallowed whole the the deep expanse of flyfishing and the endless possibilities of where it could take me.

Once I completed high school, I headed west to Bozeman, Montana to pursue a college education. I was in the playing fields of big browns that would chase down a huge streamer, complex tailwater hatches and high mountain lakes. I began guiding in Alaska at the age of 18 during the summers between school years. I fell in love with Alaska and the intense expanse of wild topography that was there for me to explore and experience.

Now after exploring much of Alaska and Montana, I have developed a deep passion for steelhead and the PNW rivers they inhabit. I have begun a deep interest for photography and enjoy trying to capture images that depict what we love in the sport so much.

It has been a wonderful ride and it just keeps getting better. I love the way my senses become heightened while on the water, I love how the colors become richer and find it priceless to catch a fish and share a good laugh with a friend while on the river.

This is my lifes work without a doubt and this passion has taken will take me to places I could only have dreamt about.
