North Andros Island, Bahamas with Philip Rolle

Andros Island is the largest and least explored island in the Bahamas.
This 2300 square-mile island paradise is not only known as the bonefishing
capital of the world but also boasts the second largest reef in
the Northern Hemisphere.
You
will want to arrange your flight into San Andros Ariport on the
Andros Island. Upon arrival, you will catch a cab to Nicholls' Town
and the Conch Sound Inn. You will be greeted at the hotel and shown
to your room where later that evening the head guide, Phillip, will
come by to make arrangements for the morning and help you with any
questions you might have about what to expect or what to bring.
The comfortable rooms at the hotel are doubles with private baths,
air conditioning and satellite t.v. Larger groups have the option
of two bedroom suites with a living room and full kitchen. The hotel
also has a beautiful swimming pool, full restaurant and bar where
all meals will be served boasting local Bahamian flare.
In
the morning you will rise early and have breakfast at the hotel
before your guide for the day will pick you up and drive you to
where the boats launch, about 10 minutes away. Lunches are packed
for you by the hotel and beverages are provided as well on the boat.
Bahamian
guides pride themselves on their guiding abilities and the guides
here are no exception. They are helpful and enthusiastic, and go
to great lengths to provide you with the best fishing opportunities
possible. Our guides are all local and very experienced with the
waters and fish in the area. The guides boats are individually owned
and will therefore reflect the personal preferences of each guide.
During
the day, your fishing will include a combination of both boat fishing
and wade fishing. The main attraction each day is the ghostly bonefish
which average 5-7 pounds in this area. However, daily shots at fish
in the double digits are very common. Also cruising the waters around
the island are permit, snapper, barracuda, and jacks. All of these
species offer exceptional fights on fly rods and should not be over
looked as quality game fish as well.
For
the first time saltwater angler or the experienced, Andros lives
up to any anglers dream of white sandy flats and big, fast fish
ripping line at blazing speeds.
